Formerly a top fashion model at 5'10'' tall, Carey was an a fan favorite of the top American fashion designers like Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren. Her father was a prominent geologist and awarded the title of Scientist in 1979 by the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists. In the course of his professional career Carey grew up all around the world. Following her graduation from the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs, she began modeling on the side. This caught the eye of an agent from Ford Model Agency New York. She lived in France for a short time, including Paris and Bordeaux. Then she returned home to New York for her college study and further to build her modeling career. In addition to modeling, she attended New York University full-time to earn a master's degree in literature. After a while she began to develop an interest in acting. She attended the Neighborhood Playhouse New York. Her acting debut came through a tiny character in 'Club Pardise which aired in 1986 alongside Robin Williams. She enjoys rock climbing ski, windsurfing, and skiing.
