Aunjanue Ellis

Aunjanue Taylor is an American actress and producer recognized for her roles played as the character of Ray Undercover Brother, The Mentalist and The television series The Mentalist. She earned a B.A. with a major in African-American Studies, from Brown University. Her MFA is in acting at Tisch School at New York University. Aunjanue was born in the United States and is an American actress, producer and director who works in television and film. She began acting on stage before appearing in mainstream, independent as well as television shows. Her most famous role was Miranda Shaw in ABC's Quantico, and also appeared on BET's epic series The Book of Negroes. In both roles, she was praised by critics and received a variety of nominations and awards including an award from the Television Critics Choice Award for the Best Actress. In 1995 she debuted as Ariel on the stage as Ariel in The Tempest. She's appeared in Broadway with roles in Come and Gone, A Winter's Tale, Drowning Crow as well as Seeking the Genesis. Her film career is highlighted through her roles as a character in Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express, and The Help. Also, she is well-known for her role on ABC's crime-drama High Incident.
