Awkwafina

Awkwafina was an American performer and actor who made her name with clever raps that tackled gender and ethnic identities from a a boldly comic perspective. Then she branched out to Hollywood. Nora Lum, born in Forest Hills Queens to Chinese and Korean immigrants was her very first musical experience. She played the trumpet. After classical and Jazz training, she delved into hip-hop when she was an teen. While at school, she majored in journalism, and women's studies in college even learning Mandarin in Beijing for a stint. It wasn't until she graduated that she start focusing on music. Her track in 2012 My Vag a response to Mickey Avalon's My Dick found viral success across the Internet eventually landing on her debut album Yellow Ranger in 2014. The album also contained was other hits that went viral, including Queef (body-positive) as well as NYC Bitche$1. This track was directly linked into another venture Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide, which was published in the year 2015. Apart from having a book published as well, she also worked as a singer. Apart from the early television shows such as Girl Code and Tawk, she has also been featured in movies including Neighbors2Storks and Bad Rap. Her breakout performances included Dude Ocean's 8, and Crazy Rich Asians. In June she released her first film In Fina We Trust.
